FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) - A Region 8 man is behind bars after a disturbance call led officers to meth.
Forrest City police officers were called to Old Madison Road around 11:30 p.m. Monday.
While responding, an officer stopped 42-year-old Kelly McKinley about a block away.
During his investigation, the officer discovered McKinley possessed two grams of methamphetamine, according to a post on the police department's Facebook page.
The officer arrested McKinley and took him to the St. Francis County Jail. He is due in court April 5 at 11:00 a.m.
"Our officers are ever vigilant in the battle to keep drugs off of our streets," Forrest City Police Chief Deon Lee said. "This simple disturbance call turned into a felony arrest and is indicative of how a call for service can go from a simple complaint to a felony arrest in a split second."
