JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Officers arrested two men Wednesday night after a fight that left one man injured.
According to a Jonesboro police report, officers responded to North Rogers Road in reference to a disturbance.
Officers first spoke to a witness who said three men had been in a fight. She said the victim had gone to the hospital because he had been hit with a 4-way tire iron.
While police were collecting the witness's statement, the victim pulled back up to the apartment complex.
He said James Coleman and Curtis Coleman had attacked him and then ran into an apartment, which he pointed out to officers.
When officers tried to find the men at the apartment, a woman answered the door. She said she saw the fight.
The woman told police the man who was attacked was trying to come into her apartment. That is when James and Curtis "jumped" him, according to incident report.
She said James had the tire iron and hit the victim multiple times.
The woman told police she even tried to break up the fight and got punched in the face.
She said the man was able to run out of the apartment, but fell. Then Curtis, who is in a wheelchair, reportedly held his ankles so he could not get back up.
The woman described to police what the men were wearing.
Another responding officer was able to find James and Curtis walking near Melrose.
They were both arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center. They are being held in lieu of a probable cause hearing.
They are both charged with aggravated assault.
