The expansion of Ozark Mountain Poultry in Batesville will bring 400 more jobs to the area.

The Rogers, Arkansas-based poultry company announced plans to consolidate its front half deboning operations into its new Batesville facility this month.

As a result, the plant in Warren will close, affecting approximately 200 employees.

However, OMP plans to hire 400 people, according to Ed Fryar, chief executive officer of OMP.

Interested applicants can pick up an application at Arkansas Department of Workforce Services or Goodwill in Batesville.

Fryar said it was a “very difficult decision” to close the Warren plant, but encouraged employees to apply for openings at OMP’s Batesville and Rogers locations.

“We will also try to assist them in finding other opportunities in the Warren area,” Fryar added.
