JONESBORO, AR - The first in a series of public forums on transportation issues vital to Jonesboro and the immediate surrounding area will be held today, under the direction of the Jonesboro Area Transportation Study's Metropolitan Planning Organization.

The first session begins at 5 p.m. at the city's Huntington Community Building at 900 West Monroe Avenue.

The JATS planning area covers a 245-square-mile range that includes Jonesboro, Bono, Brookland and Bay, as well as the unincorporated areas between those communities.  The forums are being held as part of the effort to develop a long-range transportation plan for the area.
