POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) - A man who police said had thousands of images of child pornography on his computer will spend the next five years behind bars.
A judge sentenced Steven R. Poole, 47, of Poplar Bluff to 60 months in a federal prison followed by 20 years of supervised release.
Police arrested Poole in March 2015 on a federal indictment following a months-long investigation into allegations he was sharing child pornography.
According to a news release from the Poplar Bluff Police Department, officers along with agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation searched Poole's home in the 200-block of Autumn Road, finding "numerous items of digital media."
The Southeast Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force laboratory examined Poole's electronic devices and found "several thousand images and videos of confirmed child pornography."
