JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin announced Friday he will seek another term in office.

Perrin was first elected mayor in 2008, after serving 15 years on the City Council.

"I truly love this community and I love this job," Perrin is quoted as saying in a news release. "This is a seven-day per week job that starts early and ends late, but I love every minute of it."

Prior to his public service, Perrin worked as a bank president and banking consultant.

An alumnus of Arkansas State University, he also served on the university's board of trustees and received the Distinguished Alumnus Award of the ASU College of Business.
