JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Police arrested a Jonesboro man in connection to a string of gas station robberies.
Byron Washington is being charged with four counts of aggravated robbery and four counts of theft of property.
According to police, officers used surveillance video from the fourth robbery at Citgo Adoosh Mini-Mart, 500 South Gee Street, to identify Washington.
The affidavit states officers recognized the suspect as Willie Norton and knew where he lived.
Police searched the known residence and found evidence to link the owner to each of the four gas station robberies since April 6.
They found clothing matching what was worn in the surveillance video, a cash register key from one of the gas stations and money from the robberies.
The robberies happened at the Shell gas station on South Caraway Road, the Exxon station on West Parker Road, the Kum and Go on East Johnson Avenue, and the Adoosh Mini-Mart on Gee Street.
Washington admitted to the four robberies during an interview and also admitted to using the name Willie Norton.
Washington was given a bond of $750,000 and his next court date is May 27.
