JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Monday Update: Jonesboro police released the name of the victim involved in the shooting on Tanglewood Drive Saturday night.

Police said 28-year-old Alonzo Jones was the man who was shot.

His condition is still unknown.

Jonesboro police are investigating a Saturday night shooting.

It happened in the 2000-block of Tanglewood Drive around 10:45 p.m.

Officers responded to the shooting and found one man with a gunshot wound to his groin and buttock area.

According to a news release from JPD, the man was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center, where he underwent surgery.

He was later transferred to a hospital in Little Rock and he is stable condition.

Many neighbors in the area said Sunday afternoon that they are scared to know there was a shooting just a few houses away from their children.

One person was not as scared as the others and ran across the street when she heard the gunshots.

Angie Powell was about to go to bed when she heard about 4 or 5 shots.

She looked outside and heard someone screaming.

"She was screaming for help and I walked outside looked across the street and I saw the guy laying on the ground," Powell said. "I just instinctively went over there. They needed help. There was somebody bleeding and I didn't know if they were dead or alive. If I could help them, then I would help them."

Powell said she is not a nurse, she was just raised to help those who needed it.

No arrests have been made and police have not released the name of any suspect yet.
