BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

KIPP Blytheville College Preparatory School currently serves grades 4-10, but now they are expanding.

Because the school is adding an 11th grade next year, they saw a need to expand campuses.

According to Anna Millham, managing director of operations, they bought a school building on Moultrie Drive that the Blytheville School District previously used.

Millham says by expanding into the new building located in a residential area they have an opportunity to be better involved in the community.

She also said the 63,000 square-foot space will give the students more to look forward to.

“Right now we don't have a library and we don't have a gym,” said Millham. “We partner with the local college here for gym space and our basketball team. Now we will have a space to practice and to actually have those sports.”

Millham said grades 4-6 will attend school at the new campus beginning this summer.

Grades 7-11 will stay on the current campus.

They are currently taking applications for all grades.
