CASA volunteers saddle up for annual fundraiser

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A local non-profit is saddling up for a special event.

The eighth annual Cowboy Up for CASA event is Saturday at 6 p.m. at the NEA District Fairgrounds in Jonesboro.

The $25 ticket includes dinner, dancing, raffle drawings, live and silent auctions, a BBQ contest, games, and door prizes.

Lil Red will provide live music at the event. A volunteer said it's such a fun event, and you can wear casual clothing. 

All proceeds from Cowboy Up for CASA benefit the Court Appointed Special Advocates as they advocate for children who have been neglected or abused.

The money goes directly to the five counties CASA of the Second Judicial District of Arkansas represents including Craighead, Greene, Poinsett, Clay, and Mississippi.

At last year’s event, CASA raised $50,000, and this year the organization hopes to surpass that by raising $60,000.
