BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - A new fire training center in Batesville is up and running.
Fire officials moved from training in an old sewer tank, to a state-of-the-art facility constructed on the campus of University of Arkansas Community College of Batesville.
The new facility has a classroom that can fit up to 80 people and a practice exercise facility.
The practice exercises include training in a smoke maze, burn room, elevator shaft rescue and rope training.
Fire Chief Brent Gleghorn said they are excited about the new facility and the training options it provides.
