Jonesboro National Guard station remains closed

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The Arkansas National Guard will reopen six storefront recruiting stations but the one in Jonesboro will stay closed.

The stations to be reopened this summer are in Little Rock, Jacksonville, Conway, Fort Smith and Fayetteville, according to reports.

The Arkansas Air National Guard will also reopen its recruiting station in Jacksonville.

The Army Guard centers in Jonesboro and Sherwood and the Air Guard centers in Fayetteville and Fort Smith will remain closed down.

Governor Asa Hutchinson closed the centers after an attack on a recruiting center in Chattanooga, Tennessee on July 16, 2015.

An Arkansan, Staff Stg. David Wyatt was killed in that attack.
