WEST PLAINS, MO (KAIT) - A man fired from a West Plains Walmart has found a new job.

According to KY3 News in Springfield, MO, Ramey's grocery store in West Plains hired Frank Swanson.

"Frank is the real deal. He's just genuine and people love him. He is just a great asset to this company," said Bobby Roberts, assistant store director for Ramey's.

Swanson's dismissal caused a stir in the town.

Some started a group called "Hugs for Frank" in support of him.

Frank has had a big impact on the residents in town, and has built a reputation of giving away hugs, smiles, and compliments.

"When he gives people hugs, Frank makes us women feel like we are somebody, somebody special," said Mary Gressett.

Swanson was greeting people at Ramey's on Thursday and started cashiering Friday.
