CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

The Jonesboro Police Department was called to a home after a man reportedly threatened his family and chased his father with a knife.

According to an incident report, the disturbance happened Friday night in the 1700-block of Magnolia Road.

Witnesses told police Brian Joseph Thomas, 31, of Jonesboro threatened his family and then began chasing his father with a knife.

While chasing his father, Thomas slashed two tires on a Chevy Metro and damaged the hood of a minivan.

Police reportedly located the knife near the house.

According to the police report, Thomas was placed in cuffs behind his back but managed to get them on the front of his body.

When officials removed him from the car to correct the cuffs, he became irate and kicked them.

On the way to the jail, Thomas kept shouting profanities and stated that “he was not right in the head and had a serious head injury that causes him to act that way.”

Thomas was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center for aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, insane and disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief.
