MARKED TREE, AR (KAIT) - June 6 Update: Pugh appeared in court Monday and was assigned another court date.

He is expected back in court September 2 and his trial is expected to begin on September 19.

One person is in custody after a Blytheville man was killed early Sunday morning.

According to Marked Tree Police Chief Jerry Lung, a shooting happened in the 200-block of Hines Circle in Marked Tree around 12:45 a.m. The location is in the Poinsett County Housing Authority.

Lung said Antonio Watson, 35, was killed.

Eddie Pugh, 63, of Marked Tree is charged with capital murder.

Pugh and Watson, according to the chief, got into a fight at a party. Pugh left the party, came back with a gun and reportedly shot Watson.

Michael Wofford lives at the home where the shooting happened.

He said everyone was just "hanging out having a good time."

Then Wofford said he heard a gunshot and ran outside.

"And at that time when we came out, the guy that shot Antonio, you know what I'm saying, the guy that shot him, he was reloading," Wofford said. "He was trying to put more bullets in his gun. And then I was like, 'Man, what are you doing?'"

Wofford said the last time he spoke to Watson, he was talking about just getting married and was excited to get his life back on track.

Bond for Pugh was set at $250,000 on Monday.
