IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A Salem man who has had trouble with the law now finds himself in even deeper trouble.
Izard County sheriff's deputies arrested Darren Lee Norman, 31, after they say he forged a check to purchase a Jeep in the Mt. Pleasant area.
When he was arrested on April 14, deputies reportedly found the damaged vehicle along with an undisclosed amount of alcohol.
During their investigation deputies discovered parts of the Jeep were damaged. Those parts were later found.
Norman, already a parolee of the Arkansas Department of Correction, is now charged with theft of property and second-degree forgery with additional charges likely.
Norman is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $2,000 bond with a court date scheduled for May 16.
