Woman arrested for shoplifting

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

One woman was arrested after stealing jeans from Dillard's.

According to a Jonesboro Police Department incident report, Deborah Mikel, 32, of Clarkton was caught by mall security for shoplifting clothes.

The report stated the security officer told police that Mikel and another suspect known as “Hannah” tried to leave the store without paying.

Mall personnel said Mikel and the other suspect picked up seven pairs of jeans and tried to leave the store through the dock room. When that failed, they then went into the men’s dressing room.

When they tried to leave the store, Mikel was caught with three pairs of jeans.

The other suspect got away with four pairs of jeans.  

Mikel was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center and charged with felony theft and felony hindering apprehension.
