Man threatens to rob Sonic through phone call

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police are searching for a man who decided to order cash through a threatening phone call to Sonic.

According to an incident report, the police were called Saturday night to the Sonic on East Johnson Avenue

An employee who was cleaning the parking lot told police that someone told her a man needed help in one of the stalls.

When she walked over to the stall, she saw a black man wearing a black bandana over his face, "bucket" hat, blue shirt, black jeans, and khaki "jogger" pants walking toward her.

That's when she became frightened and went back into the Sonic building.

Another employee told the suspect that he had to order in front of the business but when she turned to look for him, he was gone.

A short time later, they received a phone call with a low raspy voice saying "I'm going to rob you."

The business does not have caller ID but police are still investigating.
