JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Court dates have been set in several cases in Region 8.

According to Scott Ellington, district prosecuting attorney, a judge waived a jury trial in Tony Waller’s court case.

The case will go to bench trial Tuesday, according to Ellington.

Ellington told Region 8 News, “This case will be tried to the bench. Our paramount interest is for the victims in this case. They will have to testify about some very embarrassing things.”

Ellington also said the victims are relieved knowing they will only have to tell their story to the judge.

In an unrelated case, Ellington said Brad Bartelt’s pre-trial has been set for May 9, and a trial is set for May 11.

He added in another unrelated case, Jesse Torres’s pretrial is set for April 28, and a trial is set for May 23.
