Man arrested after disturbance at Kroger

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Police arrested a Jonesboro man at Kroger after he caused a disturbance at the store.

According to a Jonesboro Police Department incident report, April 16, police were called to Kroger, 1725 South Caraway Road, because a man was causing problems in the store.

When the officer arrived, he saw the suspect on a bicycle crossing Caraway Road.

The officer was able to stop Deqwon McGowan, 20, at the corner of Caraway Road and King Street.

McGowan told the officer that he had "cussed out" a store employee because they were in his space.

At that time, the store manager walked up to the officer and McGowan and told him that he was criminally banned from the store.

The manager told police that McGowan was cussing and asking customers for sexual favors.

When the manager told McGowan that he was banned and that it was rude to speak to employees the way he did, McGowan told him to get out of his face.

After the manager asked if he understood he was criminally banned again, McGowan got off his bike, threw it on the ground and lunged at the manager as if he was going to hit him.

That was when the officer grabbed McGowan and place him under arrest.

He was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center for disorderly conduct.
