PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Three Paragould High School students recently did well in a statewide economics and finance competition.
Zachary Hoggard, Lessley Fuentes and Cameron Pearson placed first in the region in the Economics Arkansas Stock Market Game, an investment simulation program for students in grades 4-12.
Around 2,450 teams participated in the spring 2016 session. Paragould High School placed first over 161 teams in our region.
They won 44th overall.
Albert Tiner, PHS teacher, also participated in the teacher division.
He won second in the statewide competition. Around 47 teachers participated in that.
Economics Arkansas, a nonprofit education organization that trains educators how to integrate economics and personal finance concepts into the K-12 classroom curriculum, hosts the Stock Market Game program each fall and spring semester
It is a project-based investment simulation designed to teach saving and investing while also enhancing student's math, business, communication, economics and analytical skills.
