JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An annual fundraiser for a Region 8 school is set for the weekend.

The 20th annual Springfest will be held Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Westside Elementary School campus.

It is sponsored by the Westside Elementary PTO which is a certified non-profit.

Three large carnival rides are the big attraction at this year's Springfest. A $5 armband will allow kids to ride as many times as they want.

Each grade will also have a booth including a cake walk, face paint, photo booth, and of course, carnival snacks like cotton candy.

A silent auction begins at 10 a.m. and the live auction starts at 1 p.m.

Marcus Carlton, PTO member, said there will be handmade items from the kids along with Yeti coolers up for auction.

The Westside High School cheer squad, drama department, and choir will perform at Springfest plus there will be MMA demonstrations in the Warrior gym.

All of the money raised from Springfest is used by the PTO to enhance the children's learning environment.

Past projects include new playground equipment and bringing new technology into the classroom.

Carlton said it's a great event that offers a little something for everyone.
