Kennett man sentenced to life for wife's murder

A Kennett man who pleaded guilty to killing his wife will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Allan Branum, 51, of Kennett was sentenced to life in prison for murder Thursday.

Branum was arrested by police in 2014 after his wife, Regena Branum, was shot in the head with a .38 caliber revolver at a residence at 305 N. Jackson Street.

A probable cause affidavit stated that Regena and her husband had argued about an affair he had the year before.

Branum pleaded guilty in a deal that dropped the armed criminal action charge originally filed in 2014.
