POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) - Saturday Update: Crews were at the Dollar Tree Saturday morning continuing their investigation into the fire.

They say the cause is still unknown.

Angie Morris said she was driving in the area during the fire.

She said she stopped to watch but was not alone.

"Quite a few people, the whole parking lot was filled up when I got here," Morris said. "Well it was going up in smoke. It was just all smokey and everything. It was crazy. You could hear the phones and stuff going off whenever the fire hit."

Some who work across the street said the Dollar Tree was a popular place.

Pocahontas Fire Chief Darrel Kester said more than just the Dollar Tree was damaged.

He said the Verizon store next door suffered smoke and water damage while Cato suffered smoke damage.

The Dollar Tree on U.S. Highway 67 in Pocahontas caught fire Friday night according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.

The Region 8 News crew on scene said the fire started inside the Dollar Tree and spread to the Verizon store next door.

Pocahontas, Walnut Ridge, and Maynard fire departments responded to the fire.

Crews were still working on the fire as of 10:30 Friday night.
