Burger King employee suspected in 'whopper' of a theft

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Burger King employee is suspected of pulling off a whopper of a crime.

The unnamed suspect is accused of taking $2,147 from the safe at the restaurant located at 2904 Harrisburg Road.

The store manager contacted Jonesboro police Sunday afternoon to report the stolen money.

She while doing paperwork, she noticed that the previous night's deposit was missing.

According to the initial incident report, surveillance videos showed the suspect go into the safe and remove the bank deposit, then place it into a trashcan.

The suspect then changed out the trash bag and took it out the back door.

Jonesboro detectives are investigating. No arrests have been made.
