JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Blytheville man who was the victim of a shooting, was later arrested by police for weapons, drugs and theft-related charges.

According to a Blytheville Police Department report, officers responded to a call in the 900-block of Dixie Street of someone being shot.

Emergency crews told police that Isaiah Clark, 23, was shot and taken to the emergency room.

Officers found a vehicle involved in the shooting, a gold Grand Marquis with several bullet holes in it, registered to Clark in the 900-block of Rollison Street.

Police found what appeared to be large bag of suspected narcotics in the front floorboard.

Clark told investigators someone shot him in the arm and his cousin shot back at them.

Clark also said he was carrying a .38 at the time of the shooting but claims he didn’t use it.

Investigators confirmed the bag of narcotics was marijuana and recovered over 30 grams.

Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a Colt 1911 .38 Super found at the scene was stolen in 2014.

Blytheville police issued a warrant for Clark and arrested him on April 22.

During his arrest, a .40 handgun was found in the vehicle.

Clark told investigators he bought the Colt 1911 about 8 months ago from a person he couldn’t name.

He also denied any knowledge of the marijuana being in the vehicle and claimed it was his cousin’s.

Clark said he was carrying a weapon with him for protection after getting shot.

He appeared in Blytheville District Court on April 25 on charges of theft by receiving, possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, and two counts of carrying a weapon.

He bond was set at $30,000.

His next court date is May 31.
