SIKESTON, MO (KAIT) -

A teen faces four felony weapons charges after police say he pulled a gun on a group of people and threatened to shoot them.

Witnesses said the teen threatened to shoot them before getting in a car and riding off.

It was not clear, according to the report, why the teen threatened the victims.

A short time later officers found the suspect’s vehicle in the 900-block of S. West Street.

When officers arrested the teenage suspect, they reportedly found three firearm’s in a child’s backpack. Police believe he used one of the guns to threaten the victims.

Officers are conducting checks on the firearms to determine how the teen acquired them.

The suspect, who has not been named due to his age, is being held at the Mississippi County Juvenile Detention Center.

The Scott County Juvenile Office is seeking four felony counts of unlawful use of a weapon and a charge of being in possession of a defaced firearm.
