MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) -

Budget constraints have forced the Army Corps of Engineers’ Mountain Home Project Office to defer all new shoreline activity requests at Norfork Lake for the next few months.

From May 1 until Oct. 1, the Corps will not accept any written requests or applications, according to a news release from the office.

Shoreline use requests include fire protection (mowing/under brushing) and footpath permits, private or community boat dock requests and requests for modification to an existing boat dock.

The deferral will not affect shoreline permit renewal requests or ownership transfers.

For more information, call Bruce Caldwell at (501) 340-1425 or Mountain Home Project Office at 425-2700, extension 1425.
