Early-morning roundup lands 12 in jail

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI (KAIT) - Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies hit the streets early Wednesday morning, rounding up several people wanted on a variety of charges, including theft and child molestation.

Arrest teams from the SEMO Drug Task Force, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Scott County Sheriff's Office, and from the Poplar Bluff and Cape Girardeau Police Departments, assisted the Sikeston Department of Public Safety in the warrant roundup.

Officers and agents began arrested the wanted subjects early Wednesday morning.

By 11:30 a.m. police had 12 of the nearly 20 people sought in custody.

According to DPS, three subjects on the list were already behind bars.
