JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro Pre-K received new tables that create interactive learning for the students.
The center got 11 new smart tables that allow teachers to load learning apps for the kids.
"It is basically like a gigantic iPad that many kids can gather around, so it is great for social skills since they are working together," said Brooke Guthrie, a teacher at the school.
Guthrie said the tables have been very beneficial for the class so far.
Currently, her students are learning about recycling so Guthrie found several recycling games for the table.
"It goes right along with the curriculum, you can pull in whatever you want," Guthrie said.
Guthrie said several of the games she loaded provides hands-on learning on how to recycle and why it is good for the environment.
Teachers said another benefit of the tables is it keeps the kids engaged.
"The kids love it, they fight over who is going to play with it and so we have to make sure everybody gets their turn and they just love it," said Guthrie. "It is also a great learning tool."
Guthrie said this new tool helps get students out of their desk and actively learning.
