Police arrest a woman after an animal abuse investigation.

Helena-West Helena police said officers responded to an animal neglect call on the 200-block of N. 4th.

When the officers arrived they found a malnourished dog tied to a post.

Police arrested Takia Jones, 29, of Helena-West Helena on animal cruelty charges.

Nonprofit group, Meals on Wheels for Helena-West Helena Dogs, posted photos of the dog named "Keno" to its Facebook page.

That organization said they are trying to raise money to cover the dog's medical expenses.

Their goal was $4,000 and in less than a day they have almost completed that goal.

On Monday morning, their GoFundMe page had more than $3,800.
