JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Police are investigating a shooting that happened at an apartment complex over the weekend.

A news release from the Jonesboro Police Department states officers responded to an apartment at the Links at Jonesboro, 1404 Links Circle, just after 8 p.m. Sunday.

Officers found the victim, 21-year-old Johnathon Deshawn Jones, bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg, according to JPD.

Officers tended to Jones until EMS arrived to take him to a local hospital for treatment.

Jones told officers he answered a knock at the door and let "two, slender white males" into his apartment.

The suspects, who Jones said "appeared to be in their teens," produced handguns and demanded money.

According to Jones, the suspects took $4 and a hover board before fleeing the area.

This is the only description of the suspects police have released.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Detective Chris Poe at (870) 935-6710 or Jonesboro Crimestoppers at 935-7867 (935-STOP).
