HAYTI, MO (KAIT) - Patty Ann's was a popular restaurant in Hayti that originally opened its doors in 2005.
Two years ago, however, the restaurant closed down.
Its closing left many members of the community devastated.
Region 8 News spoke with some Hayti residents who described the home-style cooking as the best food in town.
Now, a couple of years later, the restaurant is making a comeback.
After word of their return spread, Patty Ann's became the talk of the town once again.
The owner, Randall Crawford, said that after much thought, he and his family realized Hayti is where they needed to be.
"We saw that there was still a need for it," Crawford said. "I mean, it's a small town so you know we couldn't even go to the grocery store without people saying 'why did you close down and are you going to reopen?' So, we just decided to go back in and do it again."
Tuesday was the grand opening. They even added bakery items to the menu.
