MONETTE, AR (KAIT) -

As graduation nears for high school students, one is being recognized for a special achievement.

Hunter Drury, a Buffalo Island Central High School student, was awarded for having perfect attendance from K-12.

“I started off getting perfect attendance one year and then my mom kept me really motivated to get it,” Drury said. “I have really great friends that made me want to do it. There were days I didn’t really feel like going to school but I knew eventually it would pay off.”

Drury said, to his knowledge, he’s the only BIC student to accomplish perfect attendance from K-12.

He graduates May 12. He plans to major in biology at Harding University and move on to dental school after graduating college.
