JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police officers who lost the privilege of their take-home cars will get them back.

Jonesboro Police Chief Rick Elliott made that decision Friday after speaking with each officer involved in last week's parking protest.

Effective immediately, he has restored take-home car privileges.

The decision comes almost two weeks after 23 officers parked their cars at City Hall in silent protest over officer pay.

Following an internal affairs investigation, two sergeants were suspended three days without pay.

Those patrol officers involved in the protest were originally supposed to make a written request to get their vehicle back.

Chief Elliott said he will restore use of the cars to those who want them back.

They will not have to make the request in writing.
