JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

After a Friday night traffic stop, police found drugs stashed in a diaper.

An officer pulled over the vehicle driven by Brandon Loftis, 42, at the Interstate 555 ramp at Southwest Drive in Jonesboro.

According to an incident report, police could smell marijuana inside the vehicle.

Loftis got out of the car and took his 2-year-old child out as well.

Police say the man “appeared to be nervous and shaking.”

Loftis tried to remove a diaper bag from the car, but police told him to leave it.

When police searched through the car, they looked inside the bag and found a diaper that looked used.

Wrapped inside the diaper was a clear bag with marijuana and 2 pills that Loftis claimed was Xanax.

Loftis was cited on possession of schedule 6 substance of less than 4 ounces and possession of a schedule 4 substance of less than 28 grams.

He was free to leave with his child and will appear in court on May 9.
