STRAWBERRY, AR (KAIT) - Police are still investigating an armed robbery that took place in Lawrence County this past Friday.

Residents of Strawberry is shaken up after someone robbed the Strawberry Superstop gas station on Highway 35.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Yates, a man wearing a mask came into the station, robbed it and then left in an SUV that was light in color.

Josh Smith lives just one quarter of a mile away from the and though he said it scared him to death when he heard the news, he also thinks the suspect may have more problems on his hands.

"First of all, it's dangerous for a guy to do that around here because local law is far away," Smith said. "Somebody might take it upon themselves to take care of it for."

Smith also said that the law enforcement is good, but some feel that they can be better.

"They should have more patrol officers around here," Amanda Johns, who lived in Strawberry as a child, said. "There's nothing in this little town, so they knew they could get away with it and they will probably do it again."

Nobody has been arrested in this case.

Anyone with any information on this robbery is urged to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department at (870) 886-2525.
