Storms Rumble Across Arkansas This Morning

APRIL 11, 2005 - Updated at 8:45a.m. CDT

Thunderstorms are booming across parts of Arkansas this morning, and the stormy weather is forecast to continue through much of the day and evening.

Isolated strong to severe storms are in the forecast for this afternoon.  "It'll probably be later this afternoon before we see any severe weather activitity in the K8 viewing area," said K8 Storm Team forecaster Chris Castleman. The main threat will be large hail and damaging winds. Although, isolated tornadoes can't be ruled out later this afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a number of severe thunderstorm warnings this morning for central, east and south Arkansas.A larger severe weather outbreak is expected further south across southeast Arkansas, west Mississippi and Louisiana.
