LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) - A judge in Cross County facing charges of reducing sentences for sexual favors has resigned.
The Arkansas Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission announced the resignation of Cross County District Court Judge Joseph Boeckmann on Monday, effective immediately.
The news release cites 8 JDDC cases have concluded in light of the resignation.
In the resignation letter, Boeckmann states he promises to "never seek employment as a local, county or state employee or public servant in the State of Arkansas."
In November 2015, the JDDC filed charges against Boeckmann.
He is accused of prejudicial bias and using his influence over male litigants for his "personal and sexual desires."
