BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

The Blytheville Police Department is investigating a shooting that landed one person in the hospital.

According to Captain Scott Adams, officers responded to Great River Medical Center Monday for a gunshot victim.

Officers met with Demetrius Crutchfield, who “had a strong odor of intoxicants about his person,” according to the press release.

Crutchfield had gunshot wounds to his lower right leg.

Captain Adams did not specify how many wounds he had.

Crutchfield was reportedly uncooperative with officers and would not tell them where the shooting happened.

He also refused to speak with medical staff about the shooting and did not cooperate with the nurses who were trying to treat him.

Captain Adams did not release any information about a suspect in this case.
