JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro seniors had their last day of school Monday, but some of them made an appearance at the Health/Wellness and Environmental Studies Magnet School Tuesday.

The seniors dressed in their caps and gowns to walk down the halls filled with elementary and middle school students.

The younger kids lined the hallways to cheer on the seniors.

Administrators said it was not only a fun and educational experience for the younger students, but also a way to honor the seniors.

"Part of our push to get our kids excited about the next level of the high school career, junior high career and then college," Assistant Principal Korillene Flanigan said.

Shalon Tate, the school improvement specialist, said she appreciates the seniors who participated.

"To do that shows their dedication, so I feel like their future is pretty bright," Tate said.

The younger students were excited to see the seniors and the soon-to-be graduates all had smiles on their faces as they prepare to close this chapter of life and head onto a new one.
