STRAWBERRY, AR (KAIT) - MAY 13 UPDATE: The two suspects connected to a robbery at a Strawberry gas station were in court on Friday.

According to Detective Jaime White, Jarrod Burroughs was given a $50,000 cash bond. Brandon Cardwell was given a $25,000 bond.

Both are due back in court in June.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department arrested two people Wednesday for the armed robbery of a Strawberry gas station.

According to a press release from the sheriff's department, deputies arrested Jarrod Burroughs, 19, and Brandon Cardwell, 18, both of Black Rock for the crime.

The arrests stem from a joint investigation by the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, the Arkansas State Police and the Black Rock Police Department into an armed robbery that happened in Strawberry Friday night.

On May 6, a man went into the Strawberry Superstop carrying "an assault style weapon," according to the release, and told the cashier to give him the money from the cash register.

A description of the getaway car was given and officer began searching for the suspects.

Both Burroughs and Cardwell were brought in for question after the investigation. They were later arrested.

Both men are being held at the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
