POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) - An investigation is underway in Pocahontas after a Thursday night fire broke out downtown.

The Pocahontas Fire Department responded to a fire at the Randolph County Heritage Museum at 106 E. Everett St. in Pocahontas.

The fire was reportedly put out before it could spread and do any significant damage. The museum holds architectural pieces and historical items that are irreplaceable.

Fast response time by the fire department and the properly working fire alarm system are credited for getting the fire out quickly.

A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The Pocahontas Fire Department and the Randolph County Heritage Museum are working together to figure out how the fire started.
