MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Mississippi County Quorum Court unanimously passed an ordinance Tuesday night that will allow county employees or elected officials to carry a concealed handgun on county property.

Those employees must have a proper license to carry a concealed handgun on county property.

According to Mississippi County Judge Randy Carney, the ordinance states the weapons must be carried on the person or be locked in a secure location while on county property.

This rule does exclude carrying a weapon inside courtrooms without the expressed permission of the presiding judge.
