JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

If you were affected by the flood waters that happened on Tuesday, May 24 you need to contact the city of Jonesboro

In order for the city to declare the flooding a natural disaster they need everyone affected to contact the street department.

The city estimates that 75 properties have reported flood damage and that number is expected to increase.

Even those who are covered by insurance should report losses because deductibles can be declared.

“If you’ve got any photos if you got any dollar amount that you think you have had on there, please put that on there because under the law were have five days from the time the event happened to get the governor to declare that, said Mayor Harold Perrin, “we’re going to do everything we possibly can to help these folks.”
