JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Summer vacation is within reach, and a Region 8 church has week-long activities for the kids.

The Highland Drive Baptist Church is ready for Vacation Bible School.

This summer’s theme is Submerged: Finding Truth Below the Surface.

VBS is June 6-10 from 9 a.m. to noon every day.

The theme hopes to submerge the kids in God’s word.

According to Highland Drive Baptist Church’s website, planners for the event hope the children will discover that Jesus did not just see what is on the outside of people but looked deep inside.

Alma Thomas and Tamara Meredith, directors of VBS, said each day they would have activities, crafts, and snacks for the kids.

Kids who are entering kindergarten in August all the way up to the sixth grade are welcome to attend.

Registration is found at hdbc.org, or you can register your child the first day of VBS.

Highland Drive Baptist Church is located at 515 E. Highland Drive in Jonesboro.
