JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police arrested a man who allegedly pulled a knife on his brother.

According to a Jonesboro Police Department incident report, officers were called to the 2400-block of Willow Road at around 10:15 Saturday morning.

When the officer arrived, he spoke with the brother of the suspect. He told the officer that his brother, Cody Eakes, 23, of Jonesboro had a knife and threatened to stab him.

When the officer was talking with the victim, Eakes came out of the house.

The officer then started talking to Eakes and could tell that he was intoxicated.

Eakes appeared to be upset and was yelling at his brother “I love you man.” The officer asked Eakes to calm down several times.

The officer had to detain him because he would not calm down.

The officer then searched Eakes for weapons.

The officer gave Eakes a PBT test which showed he had a blood alcohol level of .18.

Eakes denied that he pulled a knife on his brother and said that his brother pulled a knife on him.

The victim’s girlfriend told police that Eakes became intoxicated, angry and violent.

He also got into her face and said that he would jump on her, that “They didn’t know him” and that he was an “Original Gangsta.”

Eakes was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center and was booked in on aggravated assault on a family member or household member and terroristic threatening.

Witness and victim statements were taken and the knife was collected by other officers.
