JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Police arrested a Jonesboro man for shooting a gun from a vehicle and threatening to “shoot everyone”, according to a Jonesboro police report.

Officer Josh Beasley arrested Greg Alexander Washington, 20, for aggravated assault and discharging a firearm inside city limits.

According to the report, Beasley was dispatched to an apartment in the 600 block of East Alpine when he noticed several people inside one of the units.

When Beasley stopped, several family members came outside. Beasley heard “what sounded like a physical fight” inside the apartment.

Beasley then overheard someone say “he was able to get the gun from him”.

Once officers secured the gun, they entered the apartment and found Washington near a dining area.

As Beasley put Washington into cuffs, he could hear the suspect saying the devil was in his head and family members said he had mental issues.

During the investigation, Beasley learned that while in her car, Washington’s mother said the suspect became upset due to not receiving his social security check and he threatened to shoot people.

When she got out of her car she heard a gunshot, according to the police report.

Washington was taken to jail and was recommended to undergo a mental health evaluation.
