TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) -

The Stepping Stone Sanctuary homeless shelter in Trumann opened in March and they are already looking to expand.

Jeff Weaver runs the shelter and said right now they have enough space for 8 men and 8 Women.

Since they opened, Weaver said he has seen a greater need in the community.

He said the shelter stays full.

They are working to purchase land to expand the shelter.

It will cost them around $12,000.

Weaver hopes with the new space they will be able to house 40 more homeless people.

If you would like to help, just give them a call at (870) 227-0259.
