JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - While the city seeks a declaration by the state for a disaster, residents are still working to remove debris from last week's storm that dumped torrential rain on Jonesboro.
According to Bill Campbell, director of communications, the city will not pick up tree limbs this week since garbage trucks are collecting items that have been thrown away due to flood damage.
"Garbage collection has been slightly delayed because of the recovery work," Campbell released Wednesday. "And the city asks that anyone regularly scheduled for Tuesday collection whose trash was not picked up Tuesday, May 31, please call the Sanitation Department at 870-932-7520.
